wooooooooo take that mille hille
ok s first of all, ive been really bad with logging my runs. i ran many times in the gap between this and the previoius run, however i cant remember the exact details of all of it. i really got to get better at that.
anyway yesterday was an amazing run. very tough, very much what i want to do.
so i decided to slow down the pace, because i think thats what was causing the blisters, and i said to myself that i will do 6 miles and i wont stop until i do. well being out of shape as i am ( because ive been doing such low mileage) i had to walk a little, but once i got to the mille hille (which i need to get a vid of) i told myself i would not stop. and i didnt. i kept going, pushing it to the extreme, fighting my weaker self (yelling at myself suprisingly helped) and i made it to the top of the hill, nonstop, a feat i havent been able to do since xc. woohoo. when i run today i think i will do the same thing.
by the way, mille hille is the evil hill that my house is situated on the very top of, so any route i run, i willl have to go up some hill, and mille hille is the worst. its about a mile (and in latin a mile is mille passi (a thousand paces (i think))) so thats where the mille comes from, and hille is old english (but i only did it that way so it could have a catchy name). its horrible, but i love it for being so horrible.

bad running day part 2
well this part was more exciting. i was planning on doing a 4 miler today, but that just fell apart. as mentioned in the last post, i was having a hard time today as it was. in the beginning of the 3rd mile, i was feeling bad with a horrible lung cramp, but i managed to hold it together.
then i tripped. i was running in the park near my house (a 1.5 mile distance), and i passed two kids and a mom. they didnt get out of the way, so i had to go around. i dont know what i tripped on, but i tripped and flew head first into the dirt. and thank goodness it was dirt. and the mother never looked back. what the heck.
i realized after this fall that maybe i needed a break. i had skipped out on two days because of these blisters, so i couldnt expect to continue on with this gradual increase of mileage immediately like that. i walked to my next mile marker and started running again. i started out same pace, however it last mile is the hell hill, the mille hille (mile hill), and i soon started to feel the burn. i slowed down, had to stop once, and kept going. i got to the finish and was dead tired. phew it was crazy, i know i definitely benefited from it. also i know ive been a little scaredy cat and ive been avoiding the hill a lot. no more mercy for me.

stupid stupid me
well i really messed up today, leading to a bad running day. So it consisted of two stupid mistakes of mine and one unavoidable.
first, i was mad at my mom. i wont go into why, because thats my business, but when i told her i was going to go running, i wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. thats mistake number 1, i didnt eat or drink sufficiently after my run. because of that, i sorta died out there
second mistake was my arch blisters that i had mentioned before. i had gone to the school trainer today and got those blisters second skinned and i thought they were fine afterwards. so it was real stupid of me to go out as hard as i did these beginning 2 miles. however, they feel pretty good, only minor discomfort.
the final out of my control mistake (well not really mistake) is that it was windy out. now despite the wind being against me almost the whole time (which is a huge factor of why i went out so fast), i have/used to have asthma (really we dont know if i do or dont right now, but i did before). usually once my lungs were worked prperly from running this kind of weather would be fine, but it wrecked me today.
and a side note, theres a little more in another post.

Shot Down
….. well i seem to have come across an inconvenience! since i just started up running distance again, i got my typical starting xc blisters on my arches. No big deal. However, somehow, they popped, and now they are killing me!!! it hurts to walk, and im getting over it a little but they still hurt and they were big too!! so there goes two more days of running, however the weather was horrible and humid so they were the days to miss. hehehe
anyone have any advice to do with these blisters? because all i’ve done so far is neosporin to disinfect, a bandaid to pad it a little, and constant checking when i can.
despite all these inconveniences and pains, i came to realize that my feet on the whole seem stronger….. must be my nike frees working!!

NIKE FREE 5.0!!!
so ive kept true to my vow and im actually doing this review thing: the first thing that i will review are the Nike Frees.
let it first be known that i own these shoes, and ive been running recently in them.
the nike frees arent for everybody. there are certain people who need support in their shoes, but those who think they do, you still might want to check them out.
first i’d like to start with the bad: they dont have good ventilation, and they get smelly fast.
and now the good: they have really strengthened my foot already, they are really comfortable, they have taken away an injury that has been bugging me forever, they look cool, they’re durable, and so much more.
previously on many shoes i’ve tried i’ve had the pain from a previous injury. Now that previous injury i got from a hurdling practice, and my coach rushed me too fast back into regular workouts (he got to the point where he did not let me go to the trainers anymore). It was in the ITB/Glute area, (we never knew what exactly was injured because i couldnt go anymore) however, it has plagued me ever since. Now i tried many things and it just wouldnt go away… however i got these shoes, and i totally forgot about that injury. It was a miracle! Also, i have used them as street shoes numerous times, and i can attest that when i wear them for prolonged periods of time, and take them off, the only difference i feel is that there isnt a little cushion between me and the floor. Thats it. Finally, they’re durability is great. ive put these shoes through so much. first from all the street things i did when they were street shoes, and now my running, and they still look new. \
i believe that if i dont give these shoes a 5/5 i would be offending nike because these shoes are great. the only downside to them are more trivial things. Just think, if they did that much for me, think of what they would do for you!!

Nature I Love You
so today i woke up with a horrible cough, a horribly stuffy nose, and post nasal drip like a waterfall. I was lethargic, and sooooooo lazy. I took medicines and they didnt help. I was so worried that i was sick AGAIN. Then my dad asked me if i could help him out outside for a little task. Well once that breath of fresh air came to me WOOOOO my nose miraculously cleared but in very little time, i lost most of the cough, and i was not lethargic anymore.
I ended up doing a bunch of yard work: filling in tire tracks caused by mud, redistribute the gravel in our gravel driveway, collect fallen sticks, and cutting a certain ornamental grass. Then i proceeded to do a awesome 3 mile run, and again hit my prime xc times. i could have gone on, but it was getting really hot, and the place where i was running had NO shade, so i made the executive decision to stop, and do two 1 minute hill sprints on the hell hill, which has some shade. oh woops i forgot to post the workouts themselves so ill get right to that.

Nothing today
ok two factors are keeping me from running today.
first the simple issue: im sore and im tired. but thats simple, and i can get over it.
the second issue is: im stuck babysitting my little brother til who knows when, so i cant just leave him at home all alone, and he certainly cant go on any runs with me… so i’ve decided to take this day easy, stretch myself out a lot… circuits… relaxing…. however, i plan to run twice tomorrow, however they will be two very easy runs so yeah. hope everyone else is having a good time working out
oh and another thing… that review thingy i was talking about before, ill do those only on saturdays and sundays. and im doing them just to do them i dont really care about anyone wanting them hahaha
